Greetings, my Coral Reef Conservation and Musician Friends!
In association with the Reef Discovery Center, we are exploring the possibility of a World Premier of the Reef Discovery Center on June 10, 2023. We would like to close off NE 33rd Street (and maybe NE 32nd Street and 34th Street, too!) from North Ocean Boulevard to 33rd or 32nd Avenue, to throw a day-long festival and art show called Coral Reef Fest, with the Reef Discovery Center as the beneficiary of the public’s attendance and support at the Fest.
If you are interested in occupying a booth with your artwork, or if you are interested in playing music at Coral Reef Fest, please drop me a line at [email protected] and let me know the nature of your artwork (it must be related to the ocean) or the name of your band, the number and type of musicians (e.g., bassist), and the type of music you play (e.g., jazz, rock, blues, country, etc.). If things go as well as we’d like them to, we may not have the time to accommodate all musicians or even all the artwork booths. However, we are planning this far ahead to ensure we get the best talent and allocate as much time and space as possible.
The Reef Discovery Center will soon be opened near the famed NE 33rd Street near Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, with its great clubs and music, such as Blue Jean Blues, the 33rd Street Wine Bar, and Fishtales (not to mention nearby Bokamper’s Sports Bar and Grill, and Shooters Waterfront and other great entertainment venues). If you know of establishments you think would be interested in supporting this effort, please let us know!
Watch this space for our future musical lineup, arts & crafts vendors, other participating vendors, sponsors, and other Coral Reef Fest news!
Hope to see you there!
