Our Volunteering Opportunities

South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (SFAEP) Community Coral Nursery Program

This is a great opportunity for marine biology graduates who studied corals in school to continue living your dream, and for those who love our reefs and want to contribute towards their long-term survival. If you have hands-on experience with onshore or offshore coral nurseries and would like to volunteer in an advisory capacity, 1-2 hours per week for at least one year to propagate and provide care for the corals.

SFAEP/UFI/CCA/S&S/Port Everglades Community Oyster Gardening Program

Using natural resources to preserve nature, we are partnering with the South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, Urban Farming Institute, Coastal Conservation Association Florida, Marine Discovery Center’s Shuck & Share Program, and the Tiki Tiki restaurant in Dania Beach to stuff shucked oyster shells into netted bags so waterway residents can help filter pollutants in our canals and channels by hanging the bags from their docks and seawalls. We are hanging them from the Port’s docks, too.
